Warm and long, the 2011 growing season proved ideal for creating bold reds and the Redstone Meritage is no exception. Crafted from the highest quality hand-harvested fruit and aged 18 months in French oak, this premium blend was assembled from equal parts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from the Redstone estate vineyard and Cabernet Franc from the mature vines of the Van Bers vineyard. The nose is beautifully aromatic, redolent with notes of plum and berry compote but also intoxicating aromas of eucalyptus, sage and mint jelly. On the palate, it is broad and soft with fine tannins and notes of spice, coffee and a hint of cigar box.

Recommended food pairings: With its hint of spice and dried herbs and wonderfully integrated tannins, this elegant Bordeaux-style wine will shine when paired with refined meat dishes. Enjoy with a roasted leg of lamb with rosemary, a Prime Rib roast with roasted root vegetables, or venison topped with seared foie gras and a red wine reduction!
